Blowing of the trumpets is
theme this year.
The purpose of choosing this
theme is really to sound an alarm to the
church that there is an urgency of the Spirit of God
to call us to holiness and righteousness and to seek
God for a revival, a mighty outpouring of His
Spirit. There has been too much idleness and
compromise in the church. So God is calling us back
to prayer, fasting, etc. so God can use that church
the way he wants too. We must position ourselves for
that to happen. The people will not hear and
understand the urgency unless we the leaders hear,
understand and do something about it.
The blowing of the trumpets is
to alert the church that there is impending
danger. We hear so much today about preparation for
natural disasters. God is calling us to
spiritual readiness and preparedness
because of both the natural and spiritual
troublesome time we are living in. We can’t just set
back, fold our hands and let things happen. We need
to actively prepare both ourselves and the people of
God for the time we are living in and to begin to
harvest His grain. There is an urgency in the
Spirit to come together in fasting and focused
praying. To be separated to God with our whole heart
and spirit. Because of the times we are living in
God is calling everyone - congregation and
leaders alike - to both be aware of the times and
seasons and prepare ourselves for the ministry.
The sound of the trumpet must
be a sure, true and clear sound. The sound of the
trumpet is not a muffled sound. We should not have a
casual attitude that says if we can we will but we
must sound a clear sound to the church. This is,
without question what God is calling us to. The
children of Israel knew what that sound meant. They
responded quickly to the sound. Our response must
be quick and we must train, exhort, teach, and be an
example to the people the Lord has placed us over so
that they will respond quickly. We must gather the
people, they can’t be left to be slothful and dead
and numb.
It is time to prepare for the
sounding of the trumpets.
Please join us and be prepared
to be encouraged and challenged as we study His Word
together.
